Garena announced Garena introduced the Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, a six month-long professional gaming league that includes more than 100 live matches. The GPL's inaugural season will be an online League of Legends tournament with six teams of professional players. The teams are made up of the top players of their countries. GPL games and commentary are streamed online. Watchers can access GPL games and commentaries through the GPL website. In January of 2013, Garena announced that it was launching the Garena Premier League's season two was scheduled to begin in January on 4th January. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two teams new from Taiwan as well as Vietnam and Vietnam, which bring the total team count to eight. The teams are: AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. In November 2014, the Garena Electronic Sports Stadium, a space specifically for esports began operations in Neihu District, Taipei. The facility was built to house games from the League of Legends Masters Series - the highest-level LoL Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau league that was a spin-off from GPL. Garena started the Iron Solari League - a League of Legends competition for females in the Philippines - in January of 2015. This is a regular event that is held during the second quarter of every month. The event is designed to encourage participation from under-represented communities and is open for all women who identify such. Garena is not only a tournament organizer but also offline gatherings as well as events which allow participants to connect. The most notable of these is the annual Garena Carnival which takes place in Singapore as well as Malaysia. Gerina Gerina Gerina
